GO. AWAY.

Description

So I had a pretty stressful morning and felt like I hadn't done any DARPG stuff in a long time, and then while I was thinking about what to do to relieve my stress I remembered that :iconrockstar-kennels: asked to arrange a breeding between her dog Sam and my APBT Lily! 8D I do love this girl and from the moment I got her I knew I'd be starting a line of Pitties in my kennel. They're just so fun to draw. <3

Story:

It was one of the cooler days of summer, when the sky was a clear blue with the perfect cotton ball clouds drifting lazily across it, a nice breeze stirring the leaves of the trees and tickling the wind chimes just enough to hear them laughing lightly in the distance. I was stomping my boots to clear them of dirt and on my way back to the house after feeding the chickens and ducks by the stables.
Even from where I was I could hear tires crunching over gravel as they came up the drive.
"Crud," I said, despairing over the fact that I had lost track of time and our visitors were going to catch me in my work clothes. I trotted up to the front porch and dropped the plastic bucket I had been carrying grains in on the wooden landing, wiping my hands on my jeans and hoping for the best.
When the door to the strange automobile opened, a bulky, flashy mass leaped out and onto the grass, sniffing around. I grinned when I saw the big Pit Bull-- he was an impressive guy, and didn't seem too intimidated in this strange place even though dogs were barking in the distance (the natural response to the sound of tires-- I had planned ahead though and put the more aggressive defenders of the Ranch away that morning) and I expected the loose members of the "pack" to be arriving any minute.
And Lily would be one of them.
----------
Lily, our petite liver American Pit Bull Terrier, took kindly to the new guy-- however he didn't hold her attention long. She wasn't one for paying much attention to other dogs when humans were around, preferring to wiggle in excited circles around my legs, licking my fingers, and generally ignoring the male who had come all this way just for her and was obviously growing more frustrated as the female paid him no attention. I got the idea to throw the tennis ball for the two of him, to get them better acquainted, but all this did was make Lily more excited to play with me, and get Sam exhausted.
Finally, I let the ball roll away as the two dogs rested together in the shade on the front porch. Lily was obviously aware of Sam's goal, since the male was making himself very clear, but she seemed to be relishing in the torment the poor guy felt.
Finally, she plopped down in cheerful weariness, and the big male sat next to her. He eyed me suddenly and the look he gave was clear: Go. Away. >:C
I laughed to myself and went inside, keeping an eye on the two from the window but making sure Lily didn't see me and start ignoring Sam again. It worked-- without a human distraction, the female happily turned her attention to Sam, much to all of our relief.

The pups will be born over at *Rockstar-Kennels. I'm so excited! c: Also I don't care that my pic is wonky or the story is long, lalalalalaaaaa~~~ *skips away*

Dogs belong to their respective owners, designs to their respective designers, and art to ME
